The Lake House on Lake Newport. The Lake House supported by Comstock is Reston Association's newest community building. The facility offers access to the deck overlooking Lake Newport, as well as a natural light-filled setting with a fireplace. The entire facility can also be rented for up to 145 guests. The Lake House is located at 11450 Baron Cameron Ave., Reston, VA.

Development Plans for Baron Cameron Park, including a new indoor recreation center funded by RCC (Small Tax District 5), increased parking, additional lighting and upgraded ball fields.
On June 25, 2014, the Fairfax County Park Authority Board approved the Master Plan Revision for Baron Cameron Park. Click herewww.fairfaxcounty.gov/sites/parks/files/assets/documents/plandev/master-plans/baron-cameron-mpr.pdf to view the revised plan.
The master plan revision strives to increase the park’s field playing capacity, incorporate additional community-oriented facilities and amenities, provide better parking and traffic management, and generally enhance the park experience. The key elements found in the master plan revision include:
The master plan revision also provides two alternative facilities:
Refer to the development plans on pages 26 and 27 of the master plan to view alternative site plans which both include and exclude the indoor recreation center.
The mention of the protection of the trees behind Newport Shores homes to our east (western side of the park) is on Page 33 and reads as follows: "3. Preservation of the Western Forest Stand similar to the appreciation of open space mentioned above, public comment reflects the desire to leave Baron Cameron Park’s western forest stand undeveloped. To bolster this desire, the western forest stand contains a high degree of elevation change and natural resources that would make any development inherently difficult. Subsequently, no new development is proposed that would require significant tree removal in this area."

- Upgrade and expand capacity of athletic fields with synthetic turf and lights
- Increase the amount of parking
- Add a second park entrance off Wiehle Avenue to improve access and circulation
- Add a picnic pavilion
- Add a restroom/support facility
- Add a multi-use court complex
- Expand the community garden area
- Retain the off leash dog park (OLDA)
- Create a trail network throughout the park and pedestrian connections to adjacent neighborhoods
- Add outdoor fitness stations along the trail network
- Retain wooded areas
- Establish Resource Protection Zones (RPZs) to manage and protect park natural areas
The master plan revision also provides two alternative facilities:
- Replace athletic fields with an indoor recreation center and additional parking
- Relocate the existing off-leash dog area (OLDA) to a central location within the park and reuse the current OLDA location as a flexible community use area

Lighting of the Brown's Chapel Baseball Fields.
On June 18, 2013, the Full Design Review Board (FDRB) approved site lighting for ball field #1 in Browns Chapel Park. Click here to view approval letter from Reston Association (RA) dated June 25, 2013. As outlined in the RA letter mentioned above, the approval included the following:
The FDRB also recommended that fields 2 and 3 remain unlit.
- Poles (6, MUSCO Lighting, 60’ high) with fixtures (3 per pole, MUSCO Lighting, 1500W) in locations indicated on the submitted site plan.
- Scoreboard (8’ x 4’, 18” digital height, Metro-Mech LX1030LED) mounted on outfield pole light or in outfield (on 4” O.D. square or round metal poles)
- May-November schedule as presented.
- a 9:00 pm shutoff with the stipulation that any complaints of excess transformer noise be mitigated by Reston Assoication and that any changes to the approved lighting schedule must be approved in advance by the Full Design Review Board (FDRB).
The FDRB also recommended that fields 2 and 3 remain unlit.
